This recipe is for anyone who thinks eating clean is tasteless and boring.
There are so many different flavors, tastes and textures to experiment with when you cook with natural foods.
Avocados are a favorite in my house and since they’re in season right now we have been trying to take advantage as much as possible.
Friday night I whipped up a delicious salsa using avocado and peppers which gave it a spicy kick.
This one was super simple. I just chopped up a jar of roasted red peppers, the avocado, a Habanero pepper, and added some lime juice and salt and pepper.
Be warned- that Habanero is no joke! It only takes a little bit to really spice things up. (Also, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, I made the mistake of rubbing my eye. Yowza!)
The heat of the peppers combined with the smooth taste of the avocado made this a winner. Definitely not boring!
Grilled turkey burgers and zucchini completed the meal. A perfect summer dish for a cook out or Friday night on the patio.
If you’re looking to beat taste-bud boredom (or prove to a skeptic clean eating doesn’t have to mean bland) give this one a try! The complete recipe can be found here.
