Few people I meet or work with are as dedicated and consistent as my Fit Camp client Courtney.
Her story is truly inspiring. Courtney and I first began working together back in April when she tried one of my Fit Camps for the first time.
As we got to know each other, I learned a bit about her journey. It started more than a year ago, and during that time Courtney lost more than 40 pounds!
When I met her, Courtney had already been working hard towards her goal, but she was stuck in a weight loss plateau and had been unable to find the kind of guidance she was seeking. She says she was at a point that she didn’t think anything was going to work, but she knew she needed to make a change.
From the very start she did everything she was supposed to. She preps her food ahead of time, balances her meals with healthy, whole foods, logs every meal daily in My Fitness Pal and never goes over her daily calories. When she has cravings she’s found a piece of dark chocolate pretty much takes care of it.
Last week she came to Fit Camp and showed me the binder she made that has all of her nutrition info, workouts and even healthy recipes!
But with any diet or lifestyle change, we all have moments when we struggle. When that happens Courtney says “I think about how miserable I was at my heaviest weight and never want to get back there. I think about how far I have come and how much hard work I have put in to it and it honestly just makes me want to work harder.”
Down another 12 pounds since April, Courtney is well on her way to her goal weight. With her dedication I have no doubt she will reach it!
Courtney says she found the right motivation for her through learning about macros and the right foods to eat, as well as the fun group atmosphere at Fit Camp.
“I get the best workouts and the best part is that the time goes so fast and I get to spend time with positive people with the same interests and goals as me,” Courtney says.
Spend a few minutes around this girl and trust me, she will make you want to work harder. Her drive and determination is contagious.
I asked Courtney what she would say to anyone working to reach their own weight loss goals. She says:
“Hard work and dedication pays off. Once I started seeing results, it became like an addiction to keep going. I am someone that used to never cook at home, would eat out every meal. I would always say that I was too busy and didn’t have time, I now see that is absolutely not true! It is all about setting priorities in your life.”
