If you want to know what it looks like to truly trust the process and do the work, take a look at my client Beckie.
She looks pretty incredible, right?!
Beckie I and I began working together back in January. At the time she had recently tackled another major goal, completing a half marathon.
Through the process of training for the half, Beckie reached her goal weight, but after the race was over found she suddenly was gaining weight, unable to maintain the lean physique she’d worked so hard for.
Knowing Beckie’s desire to not only lose the weight but also build more muscle, we began in January with a plan aimed at adding more muscle mass and conditioning her body to burn fat without having to run several miles a week.
After twelve weeks of lifting hard and eating a higher calorie range, Beckie was ready to slim down and show off her hard work!
At the beginning of May we began an intense training program that included interval bursts along with her lifting to keep her heart rate elevated and burn more fat.
Beckie also took advantage of my Nutrition Coaching, so we gradually dialed in her diet as well.
Her progress from May to July is just amazing! This chick was on point with her diet, carefully tracking her macros and staying within her calorie limit.
What’s even more awesome is Beckie was able to do this while still living life. Beckie says “I always allow myself a cheat meal once every couple of weeks, or sometimes once a week, depending on what’s going on. With that cheat meal, I’m still aware of what I’m eating and usually track it in myfitnesspal so I can physically see how my cheat meal has affected my progress that day. Seeing that I’ve gone over my calorie limit and that my macros are out of whack, it reinforces my need to stick to the plan, and I don’t want another cheat meal for a few more weeks.”
You can see incredible results here in her back progress photos. Nice butt girl!!
In all Beckie has lost more than 15 inches and dropped 2.4% body fat.
“In the past, I would eventually always stray from the plan and eventually have to start over at the beginning,” Beckie says. “Back then, before MAF (Melanie Ash Fitness), I lacked the knowledge that I have now and was less vested in the process and only focused on the outcome. Having a newfound understanding of the process, it’s much easier for me to stay on track.”
“MACROS, by far, have been most helpful,” she says. “Prior to MAF (Melanie Ash Fitness), I had no clue. All I knew was how many calories I should have, and even that knowledge I had was incorrect. It’s not just about how much you eat. It’s, more importantly, about WHAT you eat!”
Beckie is far from done, too. We are now beginning on her next goal, which is to further transform her body, adding muscle while maintaining her lean frame. I always know Beckie is going to be ready to work, and willing to do whatever she has to nutritionally to get there. This woman has an intense desire and determination to be her best.
As far as what keeps her so motivated, Beckie says, “I’ve always wondered how far I could be pushed before breaking, so a big motivator for me is the constant pursuit of that breaking point, that point where I literally cannot continue. During this pursuit, I’ve learned that I’m a lot stronger than I’ve ever credited myself for and that breaking point is much further away than I ever imagined.”
I know Beckie’s drive for success will inspire so many people. Her are her words for anyone working on their own transformation journey:
“Don’t give up. There are days where you feel weak, there are days where your scale may not reflect a number you wanted it to, but you have to look towards the future and not the now. The “now” you is not the “future” you. Push through the tough days, realize that there may be ups and downs on the scale, dance when the scales are down and be proud of your progress and be more determined when the scales are up. You’ve got this!”
